BP Rolls Group is looking for a skilled and motivated Mobile Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our Commercial Fleet Division, supporting the maintenance and repair of home shopping delivery vehicles for major supermarket customers across the Isle of Wight.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial vehicle technician who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and keeping essential delivery fleets safely on the road.

The Role

As a Mobile Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair and diagnosis of faults on a fleet of commercial vehicles used for supermarket home shopping deliveries.

Working on a day-shift pattern of four days on and four days off, with 12-hour shifts, you will play a key role in maintaining vehicle availability, minimising downtime and ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant.

Although the role is primarily based on the Isle of Wight, flexibility to support mainland operations may occasionally be required during peak periods. Where additional support is needed, we will consider scheduling work across the South Coast to help maintain a full and productive workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, planned maintenance and preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Undertake vehicle inspections, fault-finding and repairs to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Respond to vehicle defects and breakdown-related repair requirements as needed.
• Complete all job cards, maintenance records and relevant paperwork accurately.
• Work safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Support fleet operations across the Isle of Wight and, when required, provide additional mainland support across the South Coast.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Previous experience working on commercial vehicles, ideally within a fleet maintenance environment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• A proactive approach to maintenance, repair and problem-solving.
• The ability to work independently, manage workload priorities and maintain high standards.
• A strong commitment to health and safety and vehicle compliance.
• Flexibility to support mainland operations during agreed peak periods, where required.
