We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Mobile Commercial Vehicle Technician to support our operations across Mid to West Wales. This field-based role is responsible for maintaining and repairing national supermarket home delivery fleets, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational to meet demanding delivery schedules.

Mobile Commercial Vehicle Technician

BP Rolls Group is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Mobile Commercial Vehicle Technician to support our operations across Mid to West Wales. This field-based role is responsible

for maintaining and repairing national supermarket home delivery fleets, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational to meet demanding delivery schedules.

Employed under our Newport Depot, you will play a vital role in keeping essential logistics moving by delivering high-quality scheduled maintenance and repairs directly at customer
sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on vans and light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
  • Respond to breakdowns and provide roadside assistance when required
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with DVSA and industry safety standards
  • Accurately complete service records, job sheets, and compliance documentation
  • Liaise professionally with customers, drivers, and fleet managers
  • Maintain stock control of parts and tools within your mobile workshop vehicle

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician or similar role
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Willingness to work a 4 on, 4 off day shift rotation
Desirable
  • Experience supporting high-utilisation fleet operations
  • Knowledge of compliance standards for commercial delivery vehicles
  • Familiarity with digital job management or fleet systems
