HGV MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim)

Location: Andover

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled HGV MET Technician to join our growing team in Andover, Hampshire. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with extensive experience in the repair, removal, and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on heavy goods vehicles. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are restored to manufacturer and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out removal and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) components on HGVs
  • Diagnose faults and assess vehicle damage accurately
  • Perform repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and company standards
  • Work closely with panel beaters and technicians to ensure efficient workflow
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets safety and compliance requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an HGV MET Technician or similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience working with commercial/heavy goods vehicles
  • Solid understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Relevant qualifications in vehicle repair
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
